Davao City (DSWD XI) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in partnership with National Association for Social Work Education, Inc. (NASWEI) and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) recently conducted a Training on Gender Responsive Case Management for Untrained Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) Faculty of NASWEI.

The training aimed at: 1] advancing Gender Responsive Case Management as a practice model in managing cases of violence against women (VAW); and 2] guiding social work students in the application of various perspectives, concept principles, and tools in managing VAW cases and/or any form of gender-based violence.

Some 30 BSSW faculty of NASWEI school members from Mindanao and Visayas areas attended the five-day capacity building session at Apo View Hotel.

Resource persons were NASWEI-trained BSSW faculty members and Board Members with technical assistance of DSWD Program Management staffs and UNFPA representatives.

Participants were welcomed by Rebecca A. Santamaria, Assistant Regional Director for Operations, DSWD. (DSWD/jbc)
