THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Davao will award the “Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya 2016” to outstanding beneficiaries in a ceremony on October 6 at the Grand Menseng Hotel in Davao City.

DSWD-Davao information officer for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Sheryll Jane Fernandez said the Diansing family from Malita, Davao Occidental is this year’s regional winner who bested other nominees.

Now on its fifth year, Fernandez said this reward system aimed to recognize Pantawid Pamilya family beneficiaries who maintained strong family ties, demonstrate positive Filipino values and have created positive impact in the community where they reside.

The families from different provinces who have exemplified attributes of a model family were Jabanes family from Kiblawan, Davao del Sur, Bagolaque family from New Bataan, Compostela Valley, Pleños family from San Isidro, Davao Oriental, Hinampas family from Asuncion, Davao del Norte, and Sarino Family of Tigatto, Davao City.

There are also other 29 families from all five provinces who were invited to attend the ceremony.

Fernandez said the regional winner will receive P20,000 while the provincial winners will claim P10,000 each.

The search is open to all family-beneficiaries of 4Ps and nominated by parent leaders and punong barangay or the local government unit (LGU).

The winning family will help in the advocacy efforts of DSWD including the Kaya ko by serving as family ambassadors.

The DSWD, through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, launched the official Facebook page and Twitter account of the Kaya Ko ang Pagbabago campaign to gather and share stories of positive change from the beneficiaries, workers, partners, and even the public. (SSD)
