Koronadal City – Over 90 communications officers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) participated in the yearly Communication Review and Evaluation Workshop (CREW) held on January 5-9 at The Farm @ Capenter Hill.

Regional Director Bai Zorahayda T. Taha of DSWD Region XII welcomed the participants, urging them to be proactive in reporting DSWD accomplishments and to really maximize the use of quad media in advocating the agency’s programs and projects.

Highlighted by Social Marketing Service Director Cezario Joel C. Espejo was the performance per region and per program such as production of stories of change, website posting, report submission, conduct of special events, among others.

Each team also identified its best communication activity for 2015. The best communication events include Funtawid Livelihood Day, Mamamayan Mamamayani Unity Walk, Intercity Learning Visit, Kaya Ko Ang Pagbabago Radio Program, Convergence Caravan, Community One-Stop Shop, Pasko Ng Pagbabago Jingle, Panaghiusa Festival, Decasecond Film Festival, Community Theater, The Power of Facebook, PaskuJuan Bazaar, Family Day, Family Camp, and Araw Ng Kabataan.

Also discussed were Crisis Communication Through Multimedia Communication, Writing Stories That Get Approved, and Active Utilization of Social Media.

On the last day, participants visited the tribal village in Sitio Nga Bango and the town of Lake Sebu wherein they interacted with DSWD beneficiaries and local officials. (DSWD)
