Davao City –The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) expects more than 5000 beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program during the National Family Day observance on Sunday, October 4 at Magsaysay Park.

With the theme, Tuloy and Pagbabago, the event will be conducted simultaneously by 17 DSWD regional offices throughout the country.

Starting off at 9:00 a.m. with an ecumenical prayer, the celebration will feature various talents from the provinces and DSWD, product display by recipients of DSWD sustainable livelihood, storytelling for children, face painting and parlor games.

Provincial winners of the Search for Huwarang Pamilyang Pilipino will be presented and awarded with plaque and cash.

As a treat to participants, MX3 DMI Medical Supply Inc., Julie’s Bakeshop, Lonbisco, Pepsi, and Yakult (Probiotics) will provide free samples and sell some products.

National government agencies like DOH, PhilHealth, DA, NNC, BFAR and DOLE will also showcase their office profile and products.

Other participating organizations are Eden Nature Park and Resort, DavCo, NCCC Cares, Aboitiz Therma South, Nature Spring, Zest-O, SM Malls, Goldilocks, Office of Councilor Edgar Ibuyan, Nourskin Corporation, Kara’s Angel Agricultural Supplies, MASSPEC, Grand Menseng, and SECDEA.

DSWD has invited its partners from the academe, media, Area-Based Standards Network, civil society organizations, Regional Interagency Committee on Filipino Family, Pantawid Pamilya Regional Advisory Committee 1 and 2, and national government agencies.

Meanwhile, the family of Gimmy and Marebeth Basa of Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental, regional winner of the Search for Huwarang Pamilyang Pilipino will join the national awarding ceremonies in Manila on October 4.

To date, the government continues to provide better opportunities to 229,871 families in the entire Davao Region through Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Sustainable Livelihood Program and Kalahi-CIDSS. (DSWD)
