LEGAL ADOPTION.  Regional Director Priscilla N. Razon announces the observance of the Adoption Consciousness Week during Monday’s Kapehan sa Dabaw press conference at SM City Davao Annex Activity Centre. Among the events to increase awareness on legal adoption are Adoption Forum, 2^nd Convention of Adoptive Families, TV and Radio Guesting, and Setting Up of Adoption Inquiry Desk at SM Lanang and SM City Davao malls. Participants to the Adoption Forum on Wednesday, February 18 are Barangay Health Workers, Owners/Operators/Administrators of Hospitals and Maternity Clinics, Court Social Workers, and Prospective Adoptive Parents. Around 150 have been invited while 200 families are expected to attend the 2^nd Convention of Adoptive Families on Saturday, February 21 at Harana.

Theme for this year is Legal na Ampon Ako, Anak na Totoo (A Child Finds Worth in Legal Adoption).

Also highlighted this year is the DSWD engagement with DILG, DOH and DepEd pertaining their major role in the advocacy campaign on legal adoption.

The annual observance is based on Proclamation No. 72 and through Administrative Order No. 22 issued by DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman. DSWD
