LISTAHANAN. Compostela Valley Province Governor Arturo T. Uy signs the Memorandum of Agreement for the province’s utilization of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Listahanan database of poor families. Information on families availing health services, children attending school, family members’ educational assessment and occupation, are among the data the province is presently looking into to ensure that appropriate basic services are accessed to deserving families.

Governor Uy emphasized that they really need this data since the people in their province are still bouncing back from the offensive of Typhoon Pablo. “Compostela Valley is implementing programs and services to help the victims especially the poor. I commit to support the second round Listahanan assessment and aim to saturate the hardest hit areas in the province. Kaya ko at kaya natin ang pagbangon at pagbabago.”

To date, six national agencies, two non-government groups and over 20 local government units are already using the DSWD Listahanan in identifying beneficiaries of their social protection programs. DSWD
