The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI is conducting a five-day basic training and orientation for its newly hired Project Development Officers II (PDO II) under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), from August 4 to 8, 2025, at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases, Davao City.

The training aims to equip 247 new staff members with the necessary knowledge and skills, covering the history of government poverty reduction programs, the legal provisions of Republic Act No. 11310, and the Kilos-Unlad Framework, an integral guide to the program’s thrusts and goals. These are vital in enabling the PDOs to effectively serve as case managers in the field.

The newly hired PDOs will assume multifaceted roles involving case management, facilitation, monitoring, and advocacy. They will be responsible for empowering families and ensuring compliance with program conditions, crucial to the 4Ps’ overarching goals of poverty reduction and human capital development.

DSWD XI Regional Director Rhuelo D. Aradanas, Ph.D., graced the event to welcome the new staff and underscore the importance of their roles in transforming lives through public service.

By focusing on the core components of the 4Ps holistic capability building, human resources, structure, and organizational competence, the program ensures that new hires are well-prepared to serve as the critical link between the program and its beneficiaries.
