After two decades of implementing the National Community-Driven Development Program – Additional Financing (NCDDP-AF), and a year for the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI will close on June this year the two modalities with 100% of financial accomplishment said National Program Manager (NPM) Atty. Bernadette Mapue-Joaquin during the first day of the 2024 KALAHI-CIDSS Summit at Cebu City, Philippines.
During the first day of the 2024 KALAHI-CIDSS Summit in Cebu City, Atty. Mapue-Joaquin highlighted the culmination of efforts in ensuring the successful implementation of these programs. As the June deadline approaches, DSWD XI stands at the forefront of fulfilling its obligations with exemplary financial management and project execution.
The attainment of 100% financial accomplishment underscores the meticulous adherence to reporting standards and the efficient utilization of resources across all levels of implementation. Atty. Mapue-Joaquin’s presentation revealed the rarity of such achievement among regional offices, emphasizing the exceptional dedication of DSWD XI alongside other regions.
For the NCDDP-AF, the total allocation was PHP85,675,150.00, and the DSWD Field Office XI was able to utilize and accomplish the total amount with the ongoing implementation of 112 subprojects eyed to be accomplished before the end of the semester.
For the PMNP, a total of PHP88,990,919.08 was obligated with 110 completed subprojects as of April 15, 2024.
With the impending closure of PMNP and NCDDP-AF, regional offices are fervently working towards meeting financial and physical milestones before the designated timeline. This concerted effort signifies the culmination of successful initiatives and the enduring commitment to uplift communities through inclusive and sustainable development.
The Promotive Services Division Chief Merlinda A. Paragamac expressed her gratitude and congratulation towards the working force of KALAHI-CIDSS XI for the accomplishments they achieved.
“I am proud of the KALAHI-CIDSS family for successfully beating the 100% obligation of funds. Despite the odds we encountered, we were able to achieve and remarkably ended these modalities on top among the other 17 regions. These were made possible because of their extra mile in doing extraordinary work and for the love of the community people,” said Chief Paragamac.
As DSWD XI prepares to mark the closure of these modalities including its physical accomplishment, the legacy of empowerment and progress forged through KALAHI-CIDSS serves as a testament to the transformative impact of collaborative endeavors in combating poverty and advancing social welfare across the Davao Region.
