Access road in Kiblawan village opened

ACCESS ROAD.   The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) turns over a 160 linear-meter barangay road with single barrel box culvert worth Php 1,671,982.00 with a local government counterpart contribution of Php 113,042.00 in Barangay Bonifacio, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.

Present at the turnover were DSWD officials, municipal and barangay leaders, and community volunteers. The new access road links communities that were previously separated by a river, resulting to the increase in the number of agricultural products transported, and reduction in the residents’ transportation fare cost.

Kalahi-CIDSS is one of the programs of DSWD that uses the Community Driven Development (CDD) approach to empower local communities to undertake their own development projects by actively and directly involving in local governance such as identifying their community needs as well as taking part in implementing projects that will address these needs.
