DAVAO CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD is celebrating its 67 years of serving the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged constituents in Davao region.
DSWD employees, partner agencies, and beneficiaries of its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps started the celebration with a foot parade from Ramon Magsaysay Park to the Regional Office on R. Magsaysay Ave. and D. Suazo Street in Davao City.
DSWD Officer-in-Charge Emmanuel Leyco lauded the employees for their efforts of providing genuine public service to their clientele.
“I have always been proud of the employees of the DSWD as I have seen their dedication and strong commitment to providing excellent government service to the people that we serve—the poorest of the poor, the vulnerable, and the disadvantaged Filipinos,” Leyco said.
“No matter what kind of job you perform under the DSWD, please know that your labor is not in vain as every task you accomplish helps the Department achieve its strategic goals, which include helping to alleviate the lives of the poor from poverty. I urge you, my fellow public servants to uphold the principle of honesty and integrity, and to continue to provide dedicated public service to our clients as the DSWD turns another year older this year,” he added.
DSWD 11 director Mercedita Jabagat led employees on its two-day celebration that included thanksgiving mass, photo and product exhibits, DSWD market-market, wellness program, and a blood donation orientation in the Regional Office.
DSWD will also be recognizing outstanding partners, volunteer groups, people’s organizations, and employees that have greatly contributed in the implementation of the Department’s programs and services. (PNA)
